My great uncle, Henry Campilii, was a native of the Abruzzo region of Italy.
Out of necessity as well as love, he grew, fished, or hunted most of the food his family ate. His gardening skills were legendary in his adopted home of Wappingers Falls, NY. He was living proof of the fact that to Italians, poverty is no object to eating and living well.
To me, he was a wizard, and a man to be admired.
His legacy is the inspiration for Uncle Henry's Garden
